Dr. Whitehead’s primary clinical interests relate to the treatment of hydrocephalus, complex shunt problems, spina bifida and other congenital malformations of the nervous system, brain and spine tumors, vascular malformations, and skull base diseases.
Dr. Whitehead’s research focuses on hydrocephalus and fetal myelomeningocele repair. He has a major grant from PCORI (Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute) which focuses on the surgical treatment of hydrocephalus.
