Samantha Lanjewar, PhD
As the Research Programs Manager, Dr. Samantha Lanjewar is responsible for leading administrative and programmatic research initiatives, including grants administration, strategic program planning, and the HAPPIER Patient Registry. In this role, she fosters meaningful collaboration among scientists, clinicians, engineers, patients, and other stakeholders to advance high-impact research and community-driven priorities.
Dr. Lanjewar earned her PhD in Genetics and Molecular Biology from Emory University, where she studied human brain development. She has extensive expertise in neuroscience, genetics, and biomedical research, complemented by strong skills in program leadership, event planning, and stakeholder engagement.
A dedicated advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion in science, Dr. Lanjewar has held various leadership roles, including President of Emory’s Graduate Student Council, and currently serves on the board of the SHANK2 Foundation. She is also deeply engaged in STEM outreach and mentorship, demonstrating her dedication to enhancing representation from underrepresented groups. Her strategic planning, collaborative approach, and commitment to STEM education foster impactful, community-centered engagement.
Dr. Lanjewar brings extensive experience collaborating with nonprofit organizations and is passionate about advancing research and outreach that improves the lives of individuals affected by hydrocephalus. In her free time, she enjoys sports, exploring new restaurants, and volunteering.
