Ines Schlegel

As Associate Director of Communications and Marketing at the Hydrocephalus Association, Ines leads the strategy, development, and execution of integrated communications, public relations, and marketing initiatives that advance HA’s mission and strengthen its reputation as the trusted resource on hydrocephalus.
In this role, she oversees brand management, media relations, and multi-channel campaigns, guiding key initiatives such as Hydrocephalus Awareness Month, World Hydrocephalus Day, and HA’s education, research, and fundraising efforts. She manages a talented communications team and collaborates with internal leaders and external partners to ensure consistent, impactful messaging across platforms.
Her work centers on strategic planning, creative storytelling, and audience engagement — all designed to elevate HA’s voice, raise awareness, and connect people affected by hydrocephalus with critical resources and community support.
Ines earned a B.A. in Communication and Media Studies from the University of Maryland, College Park, and is bilingual in Spanish and English. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband, daughters, and son.
