The program is run through National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) and is designed to accelerate the development of new medical devices.<\/p>\n<p>Rhaeos will use the funding to further the development of FlowSense\u2122, a wireless noninvasive device that assesses CSF shunt function. This flexible sensor is placed on the skin directly over the shunt tubing and sends data related to CSF flow to a mobile app for review by a doctor. FlowSense\u2122 is not yet FDA approved, but the ultimate goal of this work is to bring the technology to the clinic to improve care for hydrocephalus patients.<\/p>\n<p>Concurrent with the work to expand the functionality of their sensor, Rhaeos is currently conducting a clinical trial to assess the diagnostic performance of FlowSense\u2122 in patients experiencing shunt failure symptoms. The study is enrolling at three hospitals, two in Illinois and one in California.<\/p>\n<p>View the Rhaeos <a
